Best Women’s Surf Camp in Nicaragua

Nicaragua has many surf camps along the coast but only a few surf camps like Suave Dulce are geared towards women.  Suave Dulce is run by former professional surfer Holly Beck.  Beck visited Nicaragua a few years ago and fell in love with the country quickly moving down to open up her venture Suave Dulce Women’s Surf & Yoga Retreat.

Women's Surf Camps in Nicaragua

Suave Dulce is located on the beautiful northern Nicaragua coastline where there are few other surf camps and Suave Dulce is possibly the only one for women.   Beck gives women and young girls the opportunity of a lifetime to learn to surf in a comfortable environment around other women.  In the afternoon there is time designated for a yoga session on the patio overlooking the coastline.  What better way to relax after a fun morning on the beach?

Suave Dulce facilities include five eco friendly cabanas, a pool, a restaurant and various entertainment options including a ping pong table and volleyball court.  There is plenty to do in the off hours of the day where you aren’t in the water or in a yoga session.  Activities outside the facility can include horseback riding on the beach or volcano surfing down the Cerro Negro Volcano.  There is plenty to do in Nicaragua!

Holly Beck and Suave Dulce are actively involved in the community.  Beck has partnered with Waves of Hope to help out in the community.  Attendance in local schools has been very low but kids who record perfect attendance get the opportunity to go to “surf school” where they can have a day on the weekend where they can learn how to surf.  This is a great incentive for kids to attend school because they get the opportunity to surf themselves instead of just watching the foreigners that come through Nicaragua.  They also help out through the building of schools and teaching English in the community.

Suave Dulce Women’s Surf & Yoga Retreat is a great option for women surfers seeking a one of kind experience.  Visitors can even combine the trip to get involved in the community.  What better way to spend your time in Nicaragua, surfing part of the day and being involved in a community service project the other half of the day.
