Nica News – Flooding in Central America

This raining season in Nicaragua and Central America has brought an unusual amount of rain.  This past week much of Central America has been coping with torrential rains.

Nicaragua News Flooding and Rain

The rains have caused flooding and mud slides.  Close to 100 people have been killed as a result, including 12 in Nicaragua.  The United Nations estimates that the flooding has affected hundreds of thousands of people.

The rain washed out roads and bridges temporarily cutting access between Honduras and Nicaragua.  The concern now is that the flooding could result in an outbreak of waterborne viruses.  Crops may be lost causing food shortages all throughout Central America.  Keep Nicaragua and the rest of Central America in your prayers.
